Triathlon Clinic:
May 31, 2008 at 8 am
Thank
you to everyone who attended the Triathlon Clinic at Sandy Beach,
Cohasset. The threat of thunderstorms in the forecast was nullified by a
nice day. The water temperature had dropped from Thursday's 55
degrees to 50 degrees today. The water temperatures was very cold, but
it did not stop those at the clinic from taking the plunge to do the
swim portion. Many thanks to Bill Burnett, Bob Falconi, Carolyn
Shea and Joe Neikirk for all there help in making our clinic a success.
We also want to say thank you to
Speedo, PowerBar,
Saucony,
Fuji and Rockland cycle
for supporting our clinic.
Here are a few
photo's from the morning.
Common clinic question was about which goggles to use?
Speedo Speed socket
is the best on the market. They are sleek, comfortable and fit
perfectly into your eye socket. Andy and I wear these for both
training and racing. Color preference, Blue.

A portion of the clinic fee went as a
donation to the Cohasset Triathlon Charity ... Racing Toward a

McGourty:
Brian began training with CAAN Sports in
early 2008 and keeps getting stronger and faster. He knocked 15
min off his time in Cohasset this year and had a big PR in Hyannis, both
sprints. He feels like he is able to race and go faster!
Xterra Alabama
It was Hot with Temperatures in the high
90's for
Xterra

felt it half way through the swim and couldn't get to race speed
surviving the course to finish 18th. Candy suffered also, walking most
of the run. Next up is Xterra Richmond June 15th. Conrad Stoltz won on
the mens side and Shonny Vanlandingham won the womens.

What do your arms do when you run, how long is your stride length and
what kind of turnover do you have with your legs? These are a few
things looked at with a video analysis of your run technique. Training
prepares us to race. What kind of training is done to prepare for your
race? Our run clinic will teach you how to run train and take you
through a sample training session. You will be given an eight week run
training program specific to your distance.
